Trotz vollem Terminplan boten mir die Jungs von Skymotion als Ersatz den Nachmittag des 10.04. an und diesmal war uns Petrus freundlich gesonnen. Nach etwas Theorie und Einweisung an der Savannah starteten wir gegen 15:30 Uhr auf die von mir gewünschte Flugroute. Direkt nach der halben Platzrunde durfte ich den Knüppel übernehmen. Ich bin Modellflieger und habe natürlich auch am PC-Simulator geübt, aber eine richtige Maschine selbst zu steuern, fühlt sich doch um einige Größenordnungen aufregender an. Dank meines überaus freundlichen Fluglehrers Philipp herrschte eine sehr entspannte Atmosphäre im Cockpit. Am Ende der zweistündigen Tour über das Leipziger Seenland, Chemnitz und Augustusburg landeten wir sicher wieder in Jahnsdorf und verabschiedeten uns nach kurzem Smalltalk mit Option auf eine Wiederholung. Für mich war dieser Flug ein Erlebnis, daß ich nicht missen möchte. Macht es nach und ihr werdet wissen, was ich meine ;-)

Arranging the "fly a plane yourself" appointment was straightforward via telephone. However, true to Murphy's Law, the weather conditions on April 8th, 2023, were unfavorable. Despite their busy schedules, the guys from Skymotion offered me the afternoon of April 10th as an alternative, and this time the weather was on our side. After some theory and instruction on the Savannah, we took off around 3:30 pm on my chosen flight route. I was allowed to take the controls halfway through the circuit. I'm a model airplane enthusiast and have, of course, practiced on a PC simulator, but piloting a real aircraft feels orders of magnitude more exciting. Thanks to my extremely friendly flight instructor, Philipp, there was a very relaxed atmosphere in the cockpit. At the end of the two-hour tour over the Leipzig Lake District, Chemnitz, and Augustusburg, we landed safely back in Jahnsdorf and, after a brief chat, said our goodbyes with the option of a repeat performance. This flight was an experience I wouldn't want to miss. Try it yourself and you'll know what I mean ;-)

Also so ein kleiner Flug ist ja für den einen oder anderen immer etwas besonderes. Man hat mal eine ganz anderes Sicht auf unsere bekloppte Welt. Wir hatten einen Cessna Flug, incl. routinierten Piloten. Da ich selbst bereits solche Geschichten kenne, habe ich auch nur einen normalen Flug erwartet. Die Gegend hat mich allerdings sehr interessiert, zumal man sogar die Wahl hatte wo man langfliegen will. Absolute Klasse!
Alle Mitarbeiter die man so dort traf waren übr. sehr nett und hilfsbereit.
Der Flug selbst war auch angenehm und entspannt, was ich wiederum woanders nicht immer so erlebt habe. Wir hatten sogar zufällig ca.10 min Bonus. Yesss! Schade das es in der Maschine ziemlich laut ist aber die 172 ist nun mal so. Das hat aber so eine Kiste in oder an sich. Ach ja, ein Kommunikationsmakel gab es vorab dennoch noch. Es ging leider für eine Buchung ewig niemand ans Telefon. Vor Ort jedoch war dann aber alles bestens und unkompliziert. Ich wünsche dem Haufen noch viele gute Flüge und Erfolg. Ich empfehle das Ganze ultramaximal weiter und werde selbst mal wieder mal da einschlagen. Daumen nach oben!

No one answered the phone for ages when I tried to book. However, once I was there, everything was perfect and straightforward. I wish the team many more good flights and continued success.
